Are there best practices for account naming?

There are no strict requirements, however, accounts should be unique across the environment. Our customers usually use the following naming conventions when they add 'private' DIDs: Let's assume that the customer's main DID number is 123456789

  • All 'private' DIDs have the same prefix, usually it's '020'. It is convenient, so that your 'private' accounts do not interfere with actual PSTN destinations.
  • After the prefix, you can add the customer's main DID.
  • After the DID they add the extension that will be assigned to the account.

As a result for the extension 100, we will have the following account ID: 020123456789100.
